Applications

HSF will enhance a wide range of immuno and nucleic acid applications. Some of the examples can be found by clicking on the menu above, but please contact us if your application of interest is not listed.
New applications are being found for the versatile platform agnostic Sirigen technology all the time!

Sirigen
elisa
Immuno-assay/ELISA

Sirigen enhanced fluorescence offers a real alternative to chemiluminescent detection but a lower cost and with greater convenience that facilitates high sample throughput.

FACS
FACS

Sirigen is currently applying its technology to FACS applications.

  • HSF will enhance signals to deliver higher analytical sensitivity.
  • Polymers are available that are excited at 365nm and 405nm. These can be used in tandem pairs to greatly enhance multiplexing opportunities in areas where there are traditionally dye choices.
  • The excellent reproducible of Sirigen polymer conjugates compared to similarly bright biological dyes offers benefits for production and ease of gaining regulatory approval.
Luminex platform

Sirigen is planning a 532nm polymer conjugate to enhance the sensitivity of both immuno and molecular assays on the popular Luminex platforms.

  • The 532nm excitation polymer will match the Luminex platforms reporter channel.
  • The excellent reproducible of Sirigen polymer conjugates compared to similarly bright biological dyes offers benefits for production and ease of gaining regulatory approval.

Parties interested in enhancing the sensitivity of their assays are actively sought and are encouraged to contact Sirigen. Click here for details.

Biomarkers
Biomarkers and Proteomics

The validation of biomarkers in clinical trials and their use in diagnostic settings require sensitive assays that are amenable to high sample throughputs.

HSF delivers the sensitivity and linearity required for robust assays even with small volumes of sample and low analyte concentrations.

HSF reduces reliance on time consuming chemiluminescence.

  • reduced hands on time, faster turn around, higher throughput
  • lower skill set required to run assays
  • increased reliability and comparability of results
Lateral flow
Lateral Flow

Fluorescent assays are increasingly gaining acceptance in the lateral flow market as greater sensitivity is demanded in new applications. Simple reader devices make the move from colourimetry practical and cost effective

  • HSF offers even greater sensitivity than standard fluorescence
  • HSF is compatible with multiplexed assays and controls
  • Sirigen polymers available for use with low cost light sources and detectors
DNA sequencing
DNA Sequencing

DNA sequencing is undergoing a revolution in its methodologies as the market accelerates towards routine, low cost diagnostic and prognostic sequencing of individuals’ genomes. Throughput and fidelity requirements increasingly call pre-sequence amplification of template DNA into question and thus drive towards single molecule analysis.

  • HSF boosts signal, driving lower limits of detection.
  • Sirigen polymers do not inhibit DNA polymerases and modifying enzymes including Taq and ligase.
  • Sirigen polymers can be directly conjugated to nucleic acids.
Molecular diagnostics
Molecular diagnostics

Sirigen polymers have proven utility in quantification of nucleic acids by both q-PCR and isothermal linear amplification strategies.

HSF enables detection of lower amounts of amplicon.

Sirigen polymers do not inhibit DNA polymerases and modifying enzymes including Taq and ligase.

HSF has been shown to enhance a wide variety of DNA quantification probes’ performance.

Sirigen polymers are highly linear in their amplification.

Sirigen polymers are available with excitation wavelengths closely matched to Stratagene and Corbett q-PCR instruments with polymers planned for others in the near future.

FISH
FISH

Sirigen is currently investigating the use of its polymers in FISH applications in order to increase sensitivity and multiplexing options.

Watch this space for further news.

Microarray
Microarrays

Sirigen polymers amplify the signal from commercial arrays, increasing sensitivity.

Amplification is highly linear.

Sirigen polymers can be used with PNA arrays to provide highly sensitive and specific target detection whilst removing the need for cDNA labelling.
